My name is Finn Semmer. I started out as a landscape photographer, drawn to the raw beauty of mountains, deep forests, and vast coastlines. But living in Berlin, a city of concrete and glass, I soon realized that my surroundings didn’t match my initial vision. Instead of searching for landscapes, I turned my lens toward people.

Street and portrait photography opened up a whole new world for me. The city may not have the wild nature I once sought, but it has something just as compelling, human stories, expressions, and emotions. Every face tells a story, every interaction is unique, and capturing these fleeting moments became my new passion.

What fascinates me most is the interplay between individuals and their urban environment, the contrast between soft expressions and sharp architecture, natural emotions in a structured setting. Just as landscapes evoke a mood, so do people, and I strive to capture that authenticity in every portrait
